Easy for me to say, after all I co-founded our company and thus created the job that I have. What’s not to love? The same could be said for most business leaders that I have met. They love their jobs and their companies for various reasons that have little or nothing to do with compensation and benefits.
But what about your employees? If asked would they say that they… Continue

The biggest rift is in the non-relationship between agencies and theirs customers, which… Continue

I’ve been reading some excellent forecasts for trends and developments in 2010 that certainly excite and encourage me to think that this could be a very interesting and challenging year. I’m too much of a social media and technology amateur though to try my own predictions!
I do know, however, that recruiters will need a whole different set of skills, goals and targets if they are to succeed and profit from all the predicted advancements and developments.

That is all.
Okay, a little more. ; )
In the seasonal world, the turn of the calendar from December to January acts as the green light of a NASCAR race. Everyone truly interested in working summer jobs in great places gets on-line and starts applying. As employers, it's both a wonderful time and a stressful time as your in-box just tripled in size. I say embrace it and work the applications to the best of your… Continue

In a world filled with CEOs who pilfer their company's coffins for their personal interests, there are a few like Leonard Abess Jr., CEO of City National Bank of Florida whose recent action embodies the concept of ultimate leadership. When a Spanish bank bought into 83% of Leonard's bank recently, Leonard and his executives made a pile of dough like most executives do during a successful financial transaction. However, the similarities with most executives stop right there. Leonard shared over… Continue

Slightly more than a scant two years ago one of those lively "discussions" (75 replies) broke out over on ERE about the effectiveness of cold calling into companies. The original proposition
asked for advice/thoughts from the group about the legality of calling into… Continue

Seth Godin posted a story
of an online encounter he had with Forbes. Here is my favorite part of his post. It would make my YEAR if everyone who contacted me online were to do so using this credo. Enjoy!
"Here, it's simple:
You can contact just about anyone you want. The only rule is you need to contact them personally, with respect, and do it months before you need their help! Contact them… Continue
