Never work only for cash or for force. They won't save your soul or help you sleep at night. Diligent work is terrible when life is without reason. Be that as it may when you live for an option that is more prominent than yourself and the delight of your own sense of…

Emergency in Ireland!

This week I had a really nice trip to Leitrim – Leitrim is a place I have rarely been to and it wouldn’t be somewhere that would spring to mind for a weekend getaway – but what beautiful scenery and what lovely friendly people! It reminded me that we should be proud of living in a country that has both modern cities and spectacular rural settings. Anyway, I digress, the reason I was in Leitrim was to visit the offices of the National Recruitment Services…

Resume Writing Services: Attractive Nuisance or Clever Candidates?

Resume writing services will tailor a job seekers resume to make them look like the perfect candidate by optimizing it for keyword searching in an applicant tracking system. In reality you have already done the work! You have already screened…

The return of the retainer

It's time recruiters fully understand the service they are offering their clients. Many of us are working on a Contingency basis (ie: only being paid for a successful placement, irrespective of who is put forward for the position); as we think this is what the client wants - in reality a contingency based payment is really only favoured if you are putting forward 1 candidate, if you are working for the candidates best interest.

If you are indeed working for…

LinkedIn Concept

I'll give kudos where kudos are due. LinkedIn was a pretty nifty idea. It negated all the Myspace and Facebook triviality and packaged up something that resembled an interactive resume. Not bad.

Recruiters gone wild! People just giving out content that is usually discovered by means of an internet scouring fest? Jockpot.

Well... now LinkedIn is trying to play jackpot. They invited us into their site, pampered us a little, spoiled us a bit. Little did…
