I recently joined a Global RPO solution onsite at an investment bank. Making the leap from agency, especially as an established consultant where I managed to build an innovative sourcing desk servicing an entire business; into a new position and environment was a huge risk for me.
I went with my gut and chose carefully, selecting an RPO that had a…

Here's an area that I've always had trouble with: candidate ownership.
Scenario 1 Continue
There are "competitors" that jam resumes into the ATS just to cover ownership. They don't qualify candidates, they don't have candidate consent....they are simply blocking others from being candidate "owners".
Do you see this occurring as well? …

A VERY big shout of congratulations goes out to Chandra Bodapati (et al) for receiving a patent on "methods and systems for determining email addresses." How cool is that?! I hope, hope, hope to interview him online about this soon. (fingers crossed)
In the meantime, I can only speculate what this means to all of the other recruiting tools on the market today. Will they have to pay Chandra a… Continue

A friend and former colleague recently told me about a frustrating conversation with a recruiter. Come to think of it I rarely, if ever, hear from anyone telling me about a fantastic interaction with a recruiter. Why is that?
Anyway, my friend saw one of their connections “like” that recruiter’s LinkedIn status about a search they were working on. Thinking it looked appealing, my friend… Continue

I can't even keep track of how often I get recruited for positions in business development and sales, but it’s gotten to the point where I don’t even want to respond anymore. Sure, the required skill sets are similar to mine, and I could probably be successful in them if I were to make a career move. But my entire work history is in marketing. I love marketing, and anyone who spent the time to look over my background would notice that.
So, when a recruiter reaches out to me for… Continue
