Half-way through the graduate business schooling process most MBA students participate in an internship. By this time, many MBAs know what they want to do and where they want to work, but the MBA internship is the final confirmation -- for most! In the last three months, more people have quit their jobs than been laid off, according to a recent AP article. Is this a sign of better economic times or an exhausted workforce that in light of recent layoffs have endured more stressful environments? Could it be that…

Top 20 Best Summer Jobs

Ideally the best thing you can do is try to find an internship which is related to your degree or passion. One of my favourite rockers, Ozzy Osbourne worked in a slaughterhouse before rising to fame with Black Sabbath! This is the best way to gain real life experience as well as having something terrific to put on your resume. For example, if…

When Is The Best Time to Apply For Online Jobs?

The job application process is no doubt tedious and tiring for everyone. We’ve all been there – sifting through the various job ad postings, sending through resume after resume, and all we want to do is get the application process over with as fast as possible. Thoughts on the Recession and Jobs

I keep reading and hearing about the doom and gloom of this economy, and that jobs are being lost faster than they are being created, (and the world is falling apart, well....). At Cool Works, we are paying close attention to the world around us and have our own concerns, but I thought I would add some bright spots of working in the seasonal world for those willing to think outside the box. And yes, I am considered to be a glass half-full sort of person.

1. Employers are still… Continue

CoolWorks... is cool.

Snippet from today's blogging...

What I found interesting about this site was much more than just its goal to help people find jobs in some of these awesome (another great word!) places - but its focus on the community of job seekers that have developed during the hunt. It's a special person that enjoys working in Yosemite during the winter... that… Continue
