Reference Checking may or may not be a part of your daily recruitment activity. For many, it's a love / hate relationship. For some it's a significant channel for lead generation, for others it's a way to create better hires, faster.
Regardless of your reason for reference checking we have found that on Recruiting Blogs, there are many…

A new change for LinkedIn profiles is coming to a desktop near you starting TODAY! 12-11-12. Take a look at a recent email I received form LinkedIn regarding the changes below.
Now before we all get into a battle with LinkedIn "Doing their own thing" it's important to realize that the services are not going away. The presentation will be different and the services that connect you to the services will be different. That being said, it does look like you will need to connect the new…
I'll start by saying that I am not an astrologer nor do I understand the first thing outside of the fact that I am a Virgo and that Virgo begins with a V.
I attended a wedding this past weekend and was introduced to a family members "friend". He was a bit older most likely in his 80's. To start a conversation he asked what I do for a living. I kept it simple and told him that I am a recruiter.
A friend of mine forwarded me this article from Yahoo on McDonald's. It's interesting because he said "check out this video from Micky D's. I guess we have to stop saying would you like fries with that and ask if they want an award for cracking eggs...."
Funny thing is that he is unemployed.... Even funnier the people in the video…
Not sure if you have noticed but Talent Communities have been disgustingly sitting at the top of recruitment conversations over the last 12 months. Well, its been longer than that, but the last 12 months has proven to show some return. We decided to bring in someone that does this for a living to share some tactical strategy with the community.…

Well, the first recruiter meet up in the Philadelphia area has come and gone and I have to say it was a great success. With over 60 recruiters strong, the conversation was full of really strong best practices and strategy sharing regarding social media and leveraging web 2.0 technologies in our day to day. So much of our job is about process, strategy and now more than ever technology.
Having the ability to source and uncover top talent is crucial to your success. Sometimes the tools we use come from non-traditional means.
I’ve recently come across an outstanding tool that is not at all meant for recruiters but you know what that means. As a breed, we are probably the more sticky and intrusive people around, but in the end we find people jobs and that’s what it’s all about.
Enter Zvents.com. Here is a little background. Based in San Mateo Ca.,… Continue

What makes me a Smart Recruiter? Recruitingblogs.com makes me a smart recruiter and all of you make me a smart recruiter. Let’s face it, we all share somewhat of the same drive and attributes as recruiters. Some just succeed a little more than others.
So what makes me different? Honestly, not much. But one day oh probably a little more than a year ago, I had some great conversations with some guy who had a vision. A vision to create a home for recruiters like you and I. A home where… Continue

Remember back in the day, say the year 2000? The turn of the century, Y2K, when we all thought the world was going to end. I personally thought that by now I would be flying my Delorean DMC 12 to work or having my robot housemate fetch me some beverages. So, I never got any of that but I did get Wakoopa!
Communication - Collaboration - Conversation - Community
What do these terms mean to you?
To me they represent the data shift that we have seen over the past few years; it represents the need to share information and the need to touch as many people as possible for no real specific reason. It’s about having the feeling that you belong; the feeling that your thoughts and work are respected and needed. It’s the impact that you have on your peers and the idea that your… Continue
