Dear Recruiters
A couple of weeks ago I asked a career coach to be the guest on my show on May 16, 2012 at Noon Eastern.
She agreed to come on but then sent me an ultimatum. "I want this info or I'm not coming on." I didn't like that. I actually granted her request but I got snippy. I admit it. But just a little.
She, however, went overboard and cancelled the whole thing.
When I asked why she gave me a psychological analysis of myself which some might say tells us a lot more about her than me.
So, now I need one of U - to stand up and be counted.
Be my guest tomorrow at Noon Eastern Time - May 16, 2012.
Here is all the info you need - even though my guest thought she needed more - you don't.
AnimalShowIntro.com - OccupyRecruiting.com
Here's my email address - RecruitingAnimal@gmail.com
I'm on Twitter too -@animal
PS: If someone who has been on b4 just wants to come on for a few minutes and share some breath-taking info that's good too.
PPS: Our show is like therapy. We give you the opportunity to articulate and analyze your ideas in front of a group of well-informed peers. My former guest would surely have come out a stronger and better woman. She blew her chance but you still can.
Comment by Russ Recruits on May 16, 2012 at 9:01am Thanks for the support, @Amy and @ Amber - but i guess I'll volunteer to help someone a little less patronising next time.
Greece = European exit = Eventual fall of the Euro = Individual currencies = higher export costs = higher manufacturing costs = higher unemployment = more candidates looking for a CAREER = knock on effect on global economics = huge risk to fragile US economy as europe biggets customer outside of China = RELEVANT and bugger all to do with Politics.
I also assure you I dont need to go on your "Show" to spot an idiot. :)
Humble up, Rusty. Your first posting was an offer to talk politics and nothing else. At least that's how it looks to a normal person. Why dont you do a little reality check with some other people here b4 telling us how awful it is to be misunderstood.
Comment by Russ Recruits on May 16, 2012 at 9:38am Humble..? I'm English!
The lesson I have learned is not to post a quick reply, as it is clear you really misunderstood. I mean REALLY misunderstood....... Especially as the "P" word is not even mentioned - at least you acknowlege its a misunderstanding - theres hope for middle east peace yet. Oh shit, thats politics....
Anyway this is silly and to be honest not the level of conversation I thought would be on here - so I'll move on.
BTW Love the Bronx Accent - Love Texas Drawls - and @ Pete, Hugh Jackman? dont you mean "Dame Edna..?"
"This is not the level of conversation I though I would find here". You started it buddy. Don't blame it on me.
Comment by Jerry Albright on May 16, 2012 at 10:27am Hey now - cool down a bit Animal. Russ doesn't quite yet understand how things work with you.
Russ - Animal is seen by some as: abrasive, derogatory, misguided, antagonistic, and often way off base. He's Canadian - and just a few more mistakes away from becoming a ward of the state. In that position - you'd be a bit snappy too.
Let's cut him a little slack.
Can you gentlemen regroup? Can we all get along? Anyone want a Coke?
What is this? Good cop bad cop. Okay with me. But a guy pleading ignorance because of English is sad just sad to me.
Jerry, if Nigel here was a girl I could undertand you sucking up this much but he isn't so you are just confusing me. He didn't offer to say anything about recruiting, just Greece. I thought it was considerate of me just to keep talking to him
Comment by Jerry Albright on May 16, 2012 at 10:48am Admit it Animal - you jumped to conclusions here. OF COURSE the Greece meltdown has a HUGE impact on the economy - which in turn sets the tone for many of the choices from both client and candidate perspectives.
The world is bigger than the GTA you know. (That's Greater Toronto Area for those outside the province.)
Comment by Amy Ala on May 16, 2012 at 1:46pm Let's get back to what's really important -
how's the accent?
Comment by Amber on May 16, 2012 at 3:30pm @Amy, our suggestions for the show are obviously not being taken seriously. Maybe because Animal doesn't really have an accent?
@Greg, an aussie accent, right? Of course, the content you could bring would be terrific as well I'm sure!
@Ross, I thought it was great that you volunteered straight off. I didn't see a lot of others doing so.
