99% of organizations will be closed on Christmas Day this year, with 85% also closed for the holidays on Tuesday, January 1st, 2013.
12 % of companies are opting to continue the festivities even longer by remaining closed the entire week between Christmas and New Year this year according to research by the Society For Human Resource Management.
Of the ten federal holidays, the most commonly observed holidays in 2012 were New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Despite current economic challenges, the majority (96%) of organizations reported that they offered the same number of holidays to their employees in 2012 compared with 2011.
Not to worry though, Emergent will remain open between Christmas and New Year, although we’re closed on the individual days themselves. Happy Holidays everyone!
