Recruiting new employees is an arduous task for hiring managers as it requires lots of efforts and time. It eats up their energy as they go on scrutinizing hundreds of resumes and deciding the candidates who must be interviewed. While this is a never-ending process for the hiring managers, the work does get monotonous after a while when they are supposed to do the same ample number of times. A well-prepared, qualified and skilled job seeker is a delight to the recruiter whereas a person who has come with no prior planning is nothing but a candidate who wastes his/her time as well as that of the employer. Many people forget the minor things while focusing on tips to prepare for an interview. These small yet essential things are going to be definitely observed by a hiring manager even if you do not think they are important. Yes! You are nervous and might even experience goosebumps right before you step into the hall where the interview is going to take place. Hence, suppress all your nervous feelings and greet the hiring manager with a bright smile on your face. A subtle handshake and confident eye contact ensure the recruiter spots a spark in you right at the start.

2. Punctuality :

This is one of the most important qualities an employer would like to have in employees. Hence, you will be judged on it from the very day of interview. Coming late for an interview could be one of the reasons interviewer might just discard your application and move on to the next candidate. They are putting in valuable time, and showing carelessness on this part could be a red flag. Reaching the venue 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled time shows your eagerness towards the opportunity as well as helps you get an overview of the place.

3. Attire :

Another factor that will create an impression on the hiring manager is your outfit. Dress comfortably, but smart. No one would appreciate an individual who keeps adjusting his/her clothes while answering the questions. It not only distracts the interviewer, but also can make you forget the next point you were going to quote. Avoid over-bright colors and just choose comfortable formal wear that can put you at ease. 4. Body Language :

The moment you enter the company campus, every minor action will be looked on. You will be judged on how you walk, how you talk, sitting posture, whether you are shaking legs or fidgeting with fingers. The hiring manager is checking your nonverbal communication points in various ways – do you maintain eye contact or lean back comfortably in the chair during the interview. Keep these small things in mind and never appear too casual. Just be confident of who you are and what you can bring to the table if given an opportunity.

5. Positive attitude :

Every answer that you give is going to decide whether you are a worthy candidate or not. Every action you take and the kind of response will assist the recruiter to make the final decision. There might be awkward questions or totally unimaginable ones, but they are asked to understand how firm are you with the answer that is just said.
