Recruiting Animal. I mean, this is so obvious that you should just call the award "Best Recruiting Animal of the Year."

With all due respect to John Sumser and Jim Stroud (both of whose thought leadership surpasses The Animal's), the operative word in your award's title is PERSONALITY.

If there's one thing The Animal has is personality. And in the words of Sammy L. Jackson, "Personality goes a long way."

Animal is my vote, I agree, they should make the trophy have fangs and gills and breathe fire

OK, so now we've all agreed that The Animal is THE personality of the year – no argument here, trust me -- who are we nominating for second runner-up?

My nomination is for Don Ramer, CEO of Arbita who blogs 'The Art of War for Talent.'

Don not only has a track record in the industry second-to-none but he has bought lunch for over 700 recruiters at the Minneapolis, Atlanta and Dallas Recruiting Roadshows. On each occasion Don has also fed countless numbers of hungry people in homeless shelters where the leftovers go.

Sometimes 'character' trumps 'personality.' Somewhere between Starbucks and cake and feeding recruiters – mind, body and soul – there's a lot of ground to cover, dontcha ya fink?

My vote is for Don. Better still -- put him in a class of his own.

I second Don's nomination.

At first, I was hurt, deeply hurt, by Harry's insinuation that I have no personality. I mean, I was really, really hurt by that.

I got to put my marker on Ramer as well. He's fed another 400 recruiters at other Roadshow events. He quietly shapes the dialog around the industry.

I think we're talking about the difference between character and celebrity. I love Michael's public persona. I think Don's is the deeper, richer fiber.

Oh, for heaven's sake! I never said the other guys (myself included) don't have personality.

It's just that Animal does an amazing job of bringing himself to life on the web.

I didn't read anything negative in Harry's remarks or in his omitting to mention me as either thoughtful or having personality. What can I say?

Comparing Michael and Don is nonsensical. That's why I suggested putting Don in a class of his own. That said, I learned the deadline for nominations has passed so this may all be a moot point.

In the final analysis those close enough to feel the pulse of this thing know where the energy is and where it goes.

Anyway, to avoid any accusations of bias on this poll, I shall be voting for myself -- twice if we can rig it like last year!
