For those that are using LinkedIn to have an on going discourse with your connections, one of the hidden gems is their 'signal' feature. Basically, the feature allows you to navigate the status stream more specifically then what you can do on your home page. For any of your connections (2nd connections etc.), you can pinpoint conversations/shares/status updates based upon key words, location, etc. (ie. CEO in Greater Atlanta Area). You can find it under 'News' up on the top menu. Is anyone else enamored with this feature?
Doug, great find, thanks!
It is a great tool
Comment by Ellen Clark on March 26, 2012 at 9:55am I will give it a try. Thanks
Comment by Doug Schade on March 26, 2012 at 9:56am It is a great tool. As a long time user of LinkedIn, I can't believe I'm only being exposed to it now.
Comment by Darryl Dioso on March 26, 2012 at 10:28am Wow, thanks for sharing. It's so good I was reluctant to post and share on Twitter and LinkedIn. (I'm in one of those selfish Monday kind of moods, y'know?)
Comment by Jacob Share on March 26, 2012 at 11:04am Interesting, kind of like a Facebook news stream
I agree. It is a good tool. Also, just as a warning, I have (understandably so) had my "hand slapped" for using the signal section to post descriptions in multiple groups at a time. I only saw the option to post in the general group discussions, and not in the “job discussion” sessions or the groups so I went with. I knew better…I just felt like a rebel at the moment.

Comment by Bob McIntosh on March 26, 2012 at 7:58pm I've used it a couple of times and find it useful finding the comments or articles I shared. As far as I know, the only way to access it is by typing it into the URL field: http://www.linkedin.com/signal/ Does anyone know if it's accessible directly from LI? I'll watch for your answer.
Comment by Maisha Cannon on March 29, 2012 at 10:52pm Great tool, indeed. I find it useful, but don't want to share yet :-) Thanks for the post!
