Empowering Ourselves by making it about ME!!
Our society has gotten to accustomed to the blame game. We are used to everything being “someone else’s” fault. People blame others for their mistakes, and for bad things that happen to them. Blame is assigned to everyone from parents, to friends, and people in another country. It is always “they,” or “them,” or even “you!” That kind of thinking is disempowering. Using words like they and them is saying that someone else is responsible for you and your actions. In other words, it means you relinquish control and power. You become a victim.
Fixing this is easy, stop using disempowering words. Stop blaming others and take responsibility for your actions. You are the master of your own activities, you are not someone else’s puppet. Change your language from one of “they and them” to I, me, we, us and our. These words demonstrate you take responsibility for your activities and actions, or for your part in them, both good and bad. Once you begin to do this you will be encouraged as those around you react very positively to your new courage. Empower yourself and the sky is the limit.
