What is that weird waffle-looking thing at the beginning of that word and how does it help me? Well, that my friend, is called a hashtag (#) and it basically makes life easier for Twitter recruitment by helping you filter through categories of interests.
For instance, the following “tweet” includes “#recruiters” written within the tweet. If you were to click on this hashtag, you will immediately be sent to a list of tweets that use this same hashtag.

Now, Let me introduce you to Hashtag chats, which are scheduled weekly and are usually led by industry leaders, companies, and/or knowledgeable members. Their chats' reach can depend on the number of people that choose to participate in the conversation, but these conversations are typically pretty well populated.
