Is anyone familiar with “Hoovers”? Is this a good service?

Yes and yes it is a good service! I use it to set up all my sourcing jobs.

I would say Hoovers is generally good, but it depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to generate a list of companies to call on it's great, but you can find the same info for free. It's also good for finding pure data like revenue, but that not what most recruiters are looking for. The worst part is it cost money.
I used to use Hoovers, but switched to Spoke and Linked In for the same info, minus the company data (revenue numbers). Spoke and Linked In are not only free, and much eaiser to find people on.
So it really depends on what you are doing.
Maureen I would be interested to you prefer Hoovers to other free resources out there?
