I thought it was a good show. Amy Ala introduced me to a guy who used to be a client of hers and we made him the guest. He likes to call himself @HR_Nasty but, really, that's like a short man calling himself Jim the Giant.
Mama Grizzly got mad at me because I didn't focus exclusively on Nasty's blog. I had the nerve to bring in material that other HR people and recruiters found important and, well, shame on me.
Of course, once she raised the alarm the other lemmings jumped on board but, in fact, they actually liked the guy so the show couldn't have been such a bad platform for his virtues, right?
NOTE: I say at the start of the recording that the date is May 9, 2011. That was my error. It was 2012. Hat Tip @SandraMccartt
Comment by Amy Ala on May 11, 2012 at 12:08pm Awesome I have a new nickname! Mama Grizzly, I like it. :) It was a good show animal - you didn't have to talk exclusively about Nasty's stuff, just more than you did.
Maybe it's a glitch on my end but when i clicked on the download i got May 9th 2011.
Sandra, you're the only one who caught my error. I didn't realize I made that error but now I remember making it. That's May 9, 2012 even tho it says 2011. Thanks
Comment by HRNasty on May 12, 2012 at 2:34am Mama Grizzly, thanks for watching my back. @animal, shame on me. I preach to candidates that they need to control the interview, and not let it control them. I had gone into it thinking we were going to talk about ways agencies can get their foot in the door with corporate recruiters and career fairs. I have the notes and will turn it into a post in the near future. Agencies and Corp recruiters need each other so hopefully we can all just kumbaya and get along.
nasty: an unreal maneuver of incredible technique, something that is ridiculously good, tricky and manipulative but with a result that can’t help but be admired, a phrase used to describe someone that is good at something. “He has a nasty forkball".
