I work for a recruiting corporation in Northern VA. I focus on accounting and finance and place professionals on temporary and temp to hire positions. There are a lot of factors that are in play with our market. Yes, we are one of the best markets in America. However, that also means that we have some of the toughest competition because everyone that is anyone is here. To top it off, many of the larger users of temp are moving their lower level operations out of town because labor is cheaper elsewhere.
So, this begs the question, what do you do to separate yourself?? One might say work harder and out hustle your competition. I agree, but I also think managers and HR professionals are getting bombarded with recruiter calls. You could say outshine your competition but how do you do that if you can not break in??
I would love to hear from people and get your thoughts. What I ended up doing was writing a rap and doing a rap video. The link is below.
