StreetID launches as a blend of a Talent Community and Job Board

This was originally posted on http://blog.jeremyrobertstx.com

In their own words:

"StreetID is an innovative online career matchmaking and networking site designed specifically for professionals in the Financial Services Industry.

We offer job seekers the chance to join our online database which enables Hiring Managers to locate the best candidates in compliance, operations, portfolio management, analysis, marketing, and other financial sectors.

Unlike traditional job search boards, StreetID provides Employers the unique opportunity to review profiles by targeting only suitable candidates based on specific biographical criteria. "

Below is a tutorial released by the company to help candidates create their "Experience Summary". The experience summary is important as it is the information recruiters and hiring managers will use to search for candidates.

My thoughts:

StreetID seems to be a mixture of an early version of The Ladders and eFinancialCareers. It doesn't appear to offer anything entirely new to the market aside from an industry specific social network. Instead, they seem to be blending social networking activities with a job board. From a candidates perspective the account setup process seems relatively painless and utilizes facebook connect.  I do not have feedback from an employers perspective as I am currently waiting for a representative from the company to contact me to complete my account registration. I will provide more information once I have more details on cost structure, etc.
