I was shopping at a wholesale warehouse this weekend and it got me to thinking about how the warehouse shopping mentality has grown exponentially in the past few years.
And it’s a good thing. If you are aware of your prices going in, you stand to save some significant dollars. I have to remember to bring my focus along with my list as it is easy to lose concentration and give myself over to the massive goodies these places often hold.
The same holds true for the search for candidates. First of all, job-seekers should not be warehoused. While their numbers are many, each candidate deserves focus as an individual. With the vast amount of job-seekers at the moment, it may be easy to look at them as goodies to choose from, but it is not fair to them or to those who have the position to be filled.
Let’s focus on each candidate for their own merit and accomplishments. In the end, it will prove the sweetest deal for everyone.

Comment by Bonnie Brooks on January 14, 2013 at 2:56pm It's good to be reminded - particularly in this economy with so many job-seekers. Thanks Kristin!
