We all have our opening lines when we make a cold call....they may be a simple "hello", "how are you?" or "Mr./Ms./Mrs. XYZ, i currently have an opportunity for you which i think would be of your liking!! "
This simple "Hello!!" 'MAY' change the course of the conversation...whether the candidate would feel interested or he/she might just say that he/she is currently in a meeting and to call back some other time!! The tone of the "Hello!" might also affect the conversation and the outcome!!
If its not too much to ask for, would appreciate if you all share your 'opening lines' here!! Afterall, the best way to learn is to share!!
Comment by Arianne Bachove on September 6, 2012 at 11:07am This is how I generally open the conversation. "Hi xyz, my name is Arianne and I'm the Director of Recruiting at xyz. How are you today?... I'm calling because I received your information and wanted to discuss xyz job opportunity and was wondering if you're still on the job market." Something along those lines anyway.
