Was that a lapsus lingue there when you answered : It's called SEM, essentially top get ranked high...

I guess you wanted to say: It's called SEO (as oposed to SEM)?

Thanks for the comment. I actually did mean SEM.
Search Engine Marketing entails anything and everything including SEO, to PPC, article writing, blog posting, news releases, etc.
To get top search rankings your SEO landing pages need authority, or backlinks.
One of the best ways of doing this is through promoting the landing pages. That promotion, can take the form of news releases, blog posts, article writing, or any other quality backlink building campaign.

Building authority is really the only solid way of building Top 10 rankings and a brand. There are no short cuts.
