Claudia's Wednesday Wisdom: A Change in Programming

  • Rating: No Rating
Yesterday Claudia Faust called me in bit of flap. She was rushing off to the airport to be with a loved one who was undergoing emergency brain surgery.

She asked me to apologize to y'all for not having her regular column up. She asked if I could fill in.

Fill in for Claudia? Impossible! So here's the next best thing -- a post for you, Claudia, courtesy of kindred spirit Susan Burns and for all to draw inspiration from:

Ami, Susan B, Maureen, Susan KN, and my many other dear friends at RBC,

This is the first time I've checked in on our community since early in the week; last night I learned that my friend's surgery was very successful, the tumor was benign, and that her early moments of recovery showed signs that her sense of humor was still there. Not much more we could have asked for under the circumstances.

I have thought often this week about community, connection, and what they both mean to me. And even though I am a person of deep faith, I've learned that the thread of life is fragile and not to be taken for granted. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to this person quite yet, and am so very grateful that I don't have to. I consider it a great gift.

There is family we are born with, and family we choose in life. I am watching my granddaughter sleep this afternoon, and feeling tremendously thankful for both.

I am thankful for you all as well. Enjoy your weekend, and I'll be back online again next week.

Amazing inspirational lecture, Ami: I have forwarded this to many friends and loved ones. Having been out of the loop for a week now, I, too, have thought much about community: RBC and the others that I am a part of. It is interesting how our lives can be so affected by those around us, that love and like us... that care about us, that teach us, that share with us, that want for our success and strive to help us attain it.

I feel very blessed to be a part of this community where thought and time go into our daily briefs and many ventures we participate in here. This posting is an example of someone (Ami) being thoughtful and mindful of what others (Claudia) may be going through or experiencing.

Glad to hear all is well with your friend, Claudia!

Looking forward to getting back in the swing here and then on to RecruitFest!
