Recruiting Software

Hello All,

I hope this finds everyone doing well! My employer just went through a merger-acquisition process a few months ago and now we are looking at a couple of options for recruiting software and I am looking for any helpful comments about two systems in particular, keeping in mind that resources, as ever, are tight.

We have researched, and one of the new divisions is using, Cyberecruiter. It is a web based, very flexible software package that is also reasonably priced. However, an IT consultant raved about Irecruiter and its ability to grow with the company, which is also an important consideration. However, it is expensive and I am not sure that I could justify the cost right now.

Any input, either pro or con, that any of you who have worked with either system could provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a great day!

Anthony

iRecruiter is from iCIMS (provider of web-based Talent Platforms) they have been rated #1 3 years running, they get it!
Several of my colleagues who work for System Integrators or Pofessional Services companies use Irecruiter, never negative feedback, all positive.

Cyberrecruiter, dont know anything about it.

You may want to consider Hiredesk, www.hiredesk.net $100 per month per license (may be some flexibility) been using it for 2 years and it's a decent ATS for the $$. Only negative is it could be faster! But extremely flexible solution, has an add-on to interface with Outlook which is a huge consideration if you run MS. Most have their own email system but who wants to be in and out of 2 differnt emails?

Other ATS's to consider are Taleo (my favorite) www.taleo.com easy setup smooth and intuitive, also www.maxhire.net a .NET ATS system that is robust, looks and feels like Outlook and is inexpensive.

Good luck
Paul

Which tool to recomend is hard to say without knowing more about your business, model, teams and capabilities. I am a big fan of ASP based tools as all you need is a good internet connection and you pay per user per seat. For my 2 cents, look for the following features: website career center integration, employee/candidate self service, integrated client, candidate and job orders with linked records, web based time reporting and authorization, email synchronization/integration, configurable to your processes, users and roles, etc.

In addition to the tools mentioned elsewhere, also check out Akken Software in Nashua NH. Nice toolset, integrated features and good pricing,

Bullhorn is an excellent web based tool for recruiters and works great for business development and sales people as well.

PC Recruiter by Main Sequence is an excellent web-based system and is very cost effective.

I used bullhorn when i was in the agency world, and I loved it. My team is all former agency recruiters. We have just signed onto a new ATS, and after much deliberation we chose Vurv. We also seriously considered SonicRecruit, which was recommended to be by a Bullhorn Rep since Bullhorn does not currently have an enterprise application.

At this point in the ATS game, there are so many choices and industry specific solutions that are offered. Go with the one that is designed in a way that matches or enhances your recruiting process and workflow, and is lightening fast at your level of volume. A slow system, no matter how feature rich can be a real time and attitude drainer. How do you currently advertise for your workers? Is response by phone or web or both? If there is phone response then you will need an IVR or telephony type applicant data gathering ability. Pricing, abilities and flexibility with the IVR component varies greatly from system to system.

I am a bit biased, being that I'm a partner in the company..... but if you are doing large volume hiring on a regular basis, and speed of the application at this large volume is important for you, check out www.FastRecruiting.net. FastRecruiting is a web based application specifically built for companies with high volume recruiting of hourly workers, truckers/drivers and contractors. I hope this doesn't come across as spamish in nature, but hey I believe in the product.

Some of the systems discussed above are designed for Corporate HR recruiting.

Others are designed specifically for Recruitment Businesses, e.g. the 3rd party agency world.

For a more detailed view of Bullhorn's market, I'd encourage you to navigate here: http://www.bullhorn.com/clients.php

Best system I've worked with PCRecruiter by main sequence. Check them out before you make a decision.

We went through the selection process last year, and it was down to Monster's ATS or iCIMS. We went with iCIMS iRecruiter and frankly, my colleagues and I have been regretting it ever since (those of us that have used other s/w, anyway).

If you've never used an ATS, iRecruiter is better than nothing. If you have people with agency backgrounds that have used powerhouse systems (agency-focus vs corporate), they will HATE iCIMS after about 2 weeks.

They "say" you can upload pdf files - but they have to be documents created using Adobe - scanned docs aren't usually uploaded. So if you have a lot of resumes dropped off at reception, you'll be sending lots of emails asking for soft copies.

It's also very clicky - you can't do anything without first clicking on a checkbox. You can't open multiple windows, so flipping back and forth between files etc is a real pain and the 'regular' back button doesn't always work, you have to use iCIMS.

I could go on for days and days and days!

*sorry, pet peeve is crappily designed s/w applications*
