Sarah Palin - melting down or heating up? Sally Quinn, I am embarrassed for you!

I don’t normally use this blog to write any articles that have much to do with politics. But I recognize a trend in this presidential/vp race that is pretty close to my area of the playground. And that is discrimination, recruiting and hiring. The left side of our nation presses for change - more spending [...]

Layoffs at Siemens and Abbott Labs (again…)

News from the Wall Street Journal Health Blog:  Abbott Laboratories recently announced plans to close a manufacturing plant in California and cut 1000 jobs.  Many major companies (Merck, Wyeth, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, and Amgen) have also announced job cuts in recent months.  Siemens, in fact, announced in June plans to lay off 17,000 workers [...]

Job Interview Etiquette….At Lunch

Not out to lunch…at lunch.  As in, what do you need to know to have a successful job interview over lunch?  Interviews over meals may seem less formal than office interviews, but they are just as important.  If you have a lunch interview for reasons other than your interviewer is truly incredibly busy, it’s because he or she [...]

Sales Candidates: Don’t bury the BS on your resume…

A Bachelor of Science degree (major in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular, etc.) is not necessary, but it is helpful in medical sales, clinical diagnostics sales, laboratory sales, DNA products sales, sales of medical or surgical supplies, medical device sales, pharmaceutical sales, or any healthcare sales.  So don’t bury it at the bottom of your resume where I have [...]

I am the “Admin” for the Recruiters On LinkedIn group. You have recently joined and this is a "welcome" to the group and "here is how it works".

Over the past year I have been experimenting how best to facilitate members being able to connect with each other. Some want to connect with everyone and some are looking for a few meaningful connections.

1-2 times per week I send a group introduction message with 10-15 new members and reintroducing others.

What this means for you is simple, do you wish to be introduced to the group?

You have 4 options from which to choose:

(A) “Open Networker” with name, email address, and LinkedIn URL as you want to connect with anyone and everyone.

(B) “General Introduction” with name and LinkedIn URL as you are specific about who you want to connect with.

(C) “Lurker” no announcement will be made as you want to be on the sidelines connecting with people as you wish.

(D) “Super Open Networker” which is (A) plus having your contact information on the group page.

A caution on the “Open Networker”, you may be inundated with invitations to connect. For some this is exactly what they are hoping for and others this could be a pain.

I do ask, if you receive invitations from members you do not want to connect with that you “Archive” the message versus “I don’t know” so the sender is not penalized by LinkedIn although how you handle this is up to you.

Again your options are (A), (B), (C), (D).

Please include your LinkedIn URL and email address you prefer to receive invitations and send to paul@mnheadhunter.com

Thank you for your time.

Hi Peggy! I know Celina is a long way from Addison, but I hope you'll join us at Cape Buffalo next Thursday for the RecruitingBlogs.com Networking Party. Jason's got the food/drinks covered, so we're just getting together for a couple of hours of recruiter-talk and fun.

Please consider joining us - great opportunity to make new friends in the recruiting community.

Peg, I don't know how they talk in Texas but there will be none of that talk here. Hey, did you vote for Kinky? I'm a bit of a fan.

Hi, welcome to RecruitingBlogs.com Let me know if you need any help navigating the system or customizing your page. You will quickly realize that the guy who calls himself the Recruiting Animal is really just a very small animal. kind of like the size of a mouse. Also, he is quite nice kind of like a hamster.
