Tech Tools for the Economical Entrepreneur - Part 1

It's been too long! I've missed my RecruitingBlogs network, and promise to publish more soon. Here's one that's been in my drafts for far too long.

Low and No Cost Resources for Small (HR/Recruiting) Businesses on a Budget

Part 1

Entrepreneur's Motto: I started out with nothing and still have most of it left (via Inc.)

This funny (or not so funny depending on the sting of it) premise underscores one of the primary challenges of the small business owner: the need to do more with less.

A day in the life of a small business owner can cover the gamut of human emotions – from exhilaration to exhaustion.  When day-to-day operational functions become cumbersome and time consuming, some of the simplest tasks can become the most stressful. Identifying resources that are efficient and easy to use can work wonders to simplify your daily routine.

Here are some free and low cost technology solutions that will equip you to work smarter, not harder.

Accounting/Payment Processing

What’s a business without money? There are many low cost and convenient ways for your customers to pay you quickly and securely. Depending on the size and scope of your business, you may benefit from a single user account versus the enterprise editions.

Pay Pal / PayPal Here (Mobile) - PayPal is the faster, safer way to send money, make an online payment, receive money or set up a merchant account.

Google Payments / Google Wallet (Mobile) - Accepts payments, increases sales, and protects your business from fraud.

Zoho Invoice - Accepts online payments, creates custom templates, manages contacts, automates recurring invoices and much more.

Square Up – For the entrepreneur on the go, Square allows you to accept credit card payments anywhere with your iPhone, Android or iPad.

FreshBooks - The fastest way to track time and invoice your clients, this service is great for teams, freelancers and service providers.

*Small transaction fees associated with most accounts. See websites for details.

The next installment of Tech Tools will highlight additional no-cost/low cost tools for entrepreneurs in the areas of Advertising, Appointment Setting and Customer Relationship Management. If there are Accounting/Payment Processing resources you've used that you don't see here, feel free to add to the comments.
